The Economy

World's economy is not doing well. That is the phrase that I keep on going to hear over the past few months. You may say that it could be because of oil prices. But today's oil price is at USD 98 which way below of its all-time high. So we couldn't just blame the oil prices. In US right now many people are suffering of losing jobs and business opportunities. I couldn't afford but start to worry to, currently I'm working for US based company.

I read today's paper which one of the current news is about our former PM, Tun Mahathir who call for re-pegging RM against USD. In US alone, 10 major banks have collapsed. Their currency is depreciated. Since RM is not pegged, we also suffer of depreciating on our currency. The fundamental of our economy is strong since we have a lot of resources but without any action taken in this short period, we may go to the situation back in 1997/98 recession.

Mainstream newspapers report that our economy is doing well but in reality is not. Often we hear that certain investors from certain countries are coming, but we see none. Our stock market can lead us to see the real situation. KLSE was traded below 1000 points which I believed the lowest par it goes within this 3 years.

The federal govt of USA announce that they will bail-out companies especially those from banking and insurance companies. But ever wonder how their govt get so much money to bail them out? So I believe that the money that they are talking about is none.

In Malaysia, we maybe a little bit lucky but we must put our worries in mind since we trade so many things with US. The security of the situation is doubtful.

The priority of the foundation

I came from a middle-income family whom my parents earned very little amount of salary to satisfy every members in the family. All of my siblings were given equal opportunity to further studies and developed their skills. Thanks to Allah through my parents, the spiritual education has always been their priority of all education.

One day when I was in form 4, my father went home from the workplace with his feet wounded. That's the turn-point of our live as far as we concern. He had to stay in hospital for a few months and had to undergo a surgical operation in government hospital since nobody in the family could send him to private hospital. He can't walk very well since that then and we had to depend on y mother through her work as rubber-tapper as well as cleaner.

Every single day, I could see that my mother had to work and manage the family matters with the support from my grandparents. She easily cried especially at night since my elder brother was in university at that time. My older sister and my eldest brother couldn't help much since both of them stayed 300km away from our house. Other than my older brother, my mother had to take care of education for both of my younger sisters as well as myself. We could be categorized as poor family at that time but none of my siblings got the scholarship from our schools or any of government agencies even though all of us did very well during our studies thanks to birocracy and political intervention from other parties.

I was very sad at that time since my parents couldn't afford to send me to tuition classes just like my friends in my class. My parents couldn't even afford to buy me a dictionary and exercise books. I even sometimes turned myself down of my faith for success since we have to pay for fundamental education every now and then. My only ambition at that time was very simple that I would only want to obtain my SPM with or without flying colour result. Come to think about it, my parents won't allow such of the nonsense idea that I had in my mind. I was very sad at that time since most of my teachers back in my primary school saw my potential of being succesful one day.

Just after my SPM examination, i asked permission from my parents to allow me to look for job in Kuala Lumpur. I just wanted to start my career since I didn't care about my tertiary education at that time. For me the most important is to replace my mother as the backbone of the family. I just want to ensure that my elder brother in university and my two younger sisters did well in their studies. It was a sacrifice that I had to obtain to ensure that all my family members lived in well life.

I don't want to write further about the rest of the stories, just in short, I went to university because of my parents will after that. What I want to address here is that the foundation of education in Malaysia is not well managed or provided. For years, the government has failed to deliver their good job when we talk about the fundamentals of education for school children. I do not know how many potential children that have to sacrifice their education for the sake of taking care of family financial.

When I was in university, my lecturer used to tease and humiliate me for my poor performance in Maths, yes I didn't do well in Math very much that day even though that I was Maths Club President in my primary school. I didn't do well in Maths because of things suddenly changed that brings a very deep impact towards my family financial during my studies in secondary school. The fundamental of Maths in universities is during your secondary school days. If you didn't do well during secondary how are you going to do well in your tertiary education?

Malaysian government spend so much on building wasted projects that benefit less to the people. Don't even have to mention on how poorly the spending is being done, you would know the truth by looking at the unjustifiable amount of money spent. I used to have friends who did very well during their primary education but didn't during secondary. This due to the lack of financial support from the parents. We have to accept the fact that nowadays we have to send our children to tuition classes since the goal of parents are to ensure that they do well in examinations. It's totally unfair to those villagers whom their parents' education background can be considered low compare to those who live in cities.

Come to think about it, i would say that the government did nothing but to address their responsibility. That's it, just responsibilities. Instead, they suppose to come with fresh ideas that may help the children from village especially those in primary and secondary school to obtain their education so that the level of knowledge is parallel with the children in cities. Sometimes, I just hoping that if we could sent the politicians' children to village so that they would know the reality that Malaysians in villages are facing.

Oil vs Air and Water

As I write this article, the world oil price is traded at USD123.84 per barrel. I bet that many people would say that this figure is totally acceptable while its consumption mostly in USA, China and India goes up in a rocket. But how many people agree that oil is mostly used by end consumers namely, us?

Oil industry has become a lux industry for middle-east countries as well as some Asian countries around the world. Currently, Malaysia is one of the Asia countries who sells its oil to other countries. Don't be shocked by the fact that we sell our oil to outsiders and we buy outsiders' oil for our usage. This happens because of the sulfur in our oil is graded as low thus producing good quality of oil products. As you may guess, yes our oil is expensive than the one that we purchase from other countries.

Basically, oil and gas are natural source of energy thanks to Allah engineering in this world that they are produced just after million years from dinosaur fossil. They have made a lot of people becoming millionaire for the past few decades. Just take a look at the development of Dubai for example, this area has become the heaven of the world by trading oil and gas.

Eventually these resources will come to its peak time where the cost of producing oil and gas is not justifiable to meet the production and demands. We can even see the results nowadays by looking at the price of these products. The theory is called "Peak Theory" which was introduced by Hubbert. The theory was initially greeted with skepticism by oil industry but the theory seems to become a reality in recent years. But I will leave you to look for its information on details by your own.

The question is, what's the solution? Without solution I believe that the world will be ruled by anarchy rules. This may happen since the civilization that we build today is based on oil and gas. Take notes that these products are not only used by the end-user but also by most of manufacturing industries. They need these natural resources to keep their product line to meet customers on time. Without oil and gas they will not be able to run their machine to do most of manufacturing jobs.

The best way for us to escape from the situation where anarchy rules is by producing products that are not geared by oil and gas. Some researches are on the move to come out with oil-free engine. In Australia, they have successfully produced vehicle engine which is run by using air. See the videos on youtube yourself and you will know that I'm not lying. Some may ask what is the performance while other may ask is this a solution? The performance is good enough to run your car at 100 miles per hour and this is not the only solution.

If 100 mph is not that good for you, may I ask you a question? Who's going to drive at 200 mph in a traffic jam anyway? We have built spacecraft, we have built human re-engineering, we have built the fastest aircraft in the world, we even have built a lot of skyscrapers then why in the world nobody can build a better water-based engine?

In some part of the world, some people even manage to get engine works by using air and it's a lubricant-free product. But in short, we need the oil and gas replacement. Yes, maybe they are not for us but, somebody please think about the future of our children. This is the perfect time for us to create something for them. We can't predict their future but at least we can start making them.

What if we fail to produce oil and gas replacement? Back to my point, why do I say that anarchy will rule? Say, suddenly today just after you wake up from your bed, you are ready to go to work. You start your car engine and you head your way on the road. Five minutes later, you just realized that you need to fill you car's tank and you turn to the nearest oil station. Sadly, they say that oil and gas are not available... forever.

You started to worry, chaos start at the oil station itself. People start running amok while all vehicles are burnt to show protest. Oh! You suppose to get your breakfast by the time but food supplies are not present since lorries which suppose to deliver the rice run out of gas/oil. At that time, people start to fight for food and fight is everywhere. There even killing and robbing causing people need medical attention. Ambulances can't reach your place since van ambulances run out of oil and gas and there will be corpse that cannot be sent to hospital. More and more people die and diseases spread quickly since these corpses are not buried and more people die. Sounds scary huh? Well, welcome to the life of insecure and inconvenience life.

This would be my first post...
